YOUR School just got Cool!
BeatALS Benefit is reaching out to school's everywhere to join in the fight against ALS. Using music, dance, theater, and the visual arts, not to mention a live rock band, we transform your school auditorium into a energetic scene from the 1960's. Making a difference has never been so fun! Sing iconic favorites of the Fab Four, like "I Want To Hold Your Hand," "Help!" and "Let It Be". Reach out and rock out to Beat ALS!
What is it? – A school wide fundraiser that raises awareness and money for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig’s disease. The concert will be a celebration of all the hard work put on by the school to Beat ALS.
Programs involved (based on school availability) – Choir, Band, Orchestra, Dance, Technical Theater, Student Body Officers, Peer Leader ship team and any other department that wants to be involved. We have ideas for any class!
Option 1
The school fundraiser runs in connection with the music department’s end of the year music events. Students rehearse music during class with 1 to 2 possible outside rehearsals. Students directly involved with the concert will receive complimentary t-shirts to be worn the day of the concert and in the evening. BeatALS will work directly with administrators, teachers, and advisers in the different programs to assist in providing direction.
Option 2
The same as option one except the concert will be independent of the school fine arts events. Rehearsals will be held after school and under the direction of the BeatALS music clinician. Given the length of the fundraiser, rehearsal dates and times will be determined with the school fine arts teachers and administrators.
Goals
Raise money for ALS – this is done through fundraising activities throughout the week, charging $5 tickets for the concert, and reaching out to local business’s for financial or in-kind support.
Distribution of funds – ALS and YOUR SCHOOL
