They’re not the 4 “youngsters from Liverpool…….”

They’re the almost 100 Bobcats from Bennion Junior High in our first ever
BeatALS Benefit –
School Edition

In less than 6 weeks the fine arts department, together with the student body officers and peer leadership team from Bennion Jr. High, put up a concert worthy of the Ed Sullivan show. 12 songs, a choir of 31 energetic singers, 19 instrumentalists, 19 dancers and 10 emcees made for an unforgettable night.  We were so fortunate to Anne Puzey, choir director; who agreed to assist us with this first event.  Despite her busy end of the year schedule, she went above and beyond to recruit the kids, gain the support of other departments, and infuse the school with BeatALSMania. Anne is the cornerstone in the structure of our kick off concert. THANKS Anne!

After all that hard work we raised almost $1,800! We couldn’t have done it without the help of generous sponsors. The UPS Store in Kearns and West Jordan provided us with posters promoting the event and print and cut our tickets. We also received a last minute rescue effort from Ethan Chidester and his team at the Chick-fil-a in Centerville. Due to a miscommunication, we were almost without dinner for our 100 hungry teenagers and in a little bit of a panic. We are so grateful to continue our partnership with The UPS Store and gain a new friend, Chick-fil-a Centerville, in our fight to Beat ALS.

We are excited for the future and feel the School Edition of BeatALS Benefit is worth sharing with schools all over Utah. We’ll continue to reach out to business’s, communities and schools to join us in the cause to entertain, educate and ultimately inspire others fighting to Beat ALS.
